Your dreams are at war.
In this Make-As-You-Play solitaire game, you will take control of one of the "islands of your dreams" that YOU create and name and lead it in battle through the gauntlet of all of the other islands, two enemies at a time. (Whether your dreams are fanciful or twisted is none of my concern.)
To start your campaign, you will need 8 blank cards for making your islands (and more blank cards later on) and a standard deck of 52 playing cards (no jokers).
Each island in the game is represented by an arrangement of standard playing cards. An attack from one of these cards can target any card of the same suit or rank within an enemy island. (For example, a 7 of diamonds can knock out any 7 or any diamond.) Islands are eliminated when they cannot attack anything or when all of their cards have been targeted. YOU are in control of every attack, whether from your island or from an enemy, with the goal of keeping your own self afloat.
If you can last until your island is one of the last two floating, those two islands will grow and gain special abilities, and you will create a new island (making future games more difficult to win)! Your premature elimination will see your island start to crumble (making future games easier) or possibly collapse entirely (...much easier).
