Longstreet's Assault simulates the attack of Major General John Bell Hood's division of Longstreet's corps against the Union left flank on the second day of fighting at Gettysburg, 2 July 1863. It covers the intense fighting at key sites such as Little Round Top, Devil's Den, the Slaughter Pen, and Bloody Run.
This is a tactical game where each unit represents either a regiment or an artillery battery. Each hex covers 125 yards. Restricted intelligence is used to simulate the fog of war and the oversized hexes are used to regulate movement. There are basic rules for the beginner and advanced rules for those that desire more detail. There is also a "what if scenario" of Hood's proposed flanking maneuver around the Union left.
