Ushabti are statues used in ancient Egyptian funerals. They were placed in tombs along with other goods to assist the deceased in the afterlife. They came in a number of figures and sizes and provided different benefits in the afterlife. Place Ushabti in your burial chamber or place them in your sarcophagus in order to gain influence for the afterlife. Have the highest influence for two rounds. Each player selects one of the cards in their hand to gain influence. This card is placed directly in front of them. This card may be placed in the player’s burial chamber so all can see (face up) or placed in the player’s sarcophagus (face down). All cards are revealed simultaneously. Each player passes their hand to the neighboring player: alternate passing clockwise and counterclockwise each round. After all the cards have been played, the round ends and the influence is scored. Each card provides influence in up to three ways. Each Ushabti provides a base level of influence and additional influence based on whether it is prominently displayed in the burial chamber. Each Ushabti also provides influence in a unique way, depending on what other types of Ushabti are in each player’s burial chamber and/or sarcophagus. Shuffle and deal new hands to each player.
