Blockminers (2024)

Blockminers is a cooperative deck-building board game. You play as a group of hackers in a dystopian cyberpunk future, and your goal is to infiltrate the bank CapitAll. If you run out of money to pay the rent, you lose. The game is played in days, where each day has three phases: start of day, when players draw cards, workday, when cards are played, and end of day, when rent is paid. During the workday, the turn continually passes around the table, and each player plays one card. Some cards force players to draw encounter cards, which are almost always bad. However, players choose when to play them, and it is often possible to play the cards such that their downside is reduced. When all cards are played, players pay rent and proceed to the next day. If rent cannot be paid, it's game over. —description from the designer
