Tales From the Mountains, The Kit Carson Card Game (2004)

"A strategic solo card game in the life & times of the legendary Kit Carson." The player must maintains a traveling force of mountain men, trappers, prospectors and soldiers exploring the American wilderness. Resources relied on by the expedition and tracked in the game include firearms and ammunition, horses and mules, and food and water. "Victory: I. Live long enough to own 25 beaver pelts, II. or, Play for high score (fewest turns to victory.) Pelts cached, traded, stolen, or lost do not count towards your victory total." Required components include two standard decks of playing cards (for the Frontier Expansion Deck and Frontier Adventure Deck), a roll of pennies (or tokens), six nickels, two dimes, a pawn, player sheet, turn sheet, and two six-sided dice (preferably red & white.) The game also includes rules for a multi-player version.
