Jönköping - Spelet om din stad ("Jönköping - The Local Game") is yet another of those Monopoly-style games that Swedish Local Authorities love to commission from games publishers. In this case it was Gothenburg-based games publisher We Are Sailing (now defunct) that created the game. The game is about the modern Municipality of Jönköping (Jönköpings kommun), which explain why the towns of Gränna and Huskvarna is present in the game (included in the Municipality since 1971). Historically, geographically and culturally Jönköping (founded 1284), Gränna (founded circa 1690) and Huskvarna (founded 1911) is quite separate entities. Also, the isle of Visingsö (a former countryside council in its own right) features fairly prominently in the game. The game is estimated to have been published in 2008.
