Traitor's Tide (2023)

Traitor’s Tide is a fast-paced, hidden-role dice game of suspicion, sabotage, and swashbuckling bluffery for 3–6 players. Set aboard a perilous pirate ship, players assume secret identities as either loyal Shipmates or treacherous Traitors, working together (or not) to fend off attacks from a rival ship while hoarding treasure for their side. At the start of the game, hidden role cards are dealt, and traitors may secretly identify each other. Players take turns rolling five custom dice (with up to two re-rolls), hoping for favorable results—but danger lurks on every face. Waves cause ship damage, pirate flags trigger enemy attacks, and swords provide defense. Roll too many waves? Your ship takes a hit. Lose to the pirates? Treasure vanishes from your chest. Roll some coins? You might keep the loot… or steal from your fellow crewmates. As in BANG! The Dice Game, luck is tempered by strategy and push-your-luck risk. But unlike many classic social deduction games—such as Werewolf, Secret Hitler, or Feed the Kraken—Traitor’s Tide features no player elimination, no variable powers, and no complex setup, making it an accessible entry point into the hidden-role genre, perfect for families, casual gamers, or fans of The Traitors TV series. The game ends when either the treasure chest is empty or the ship is fully damaged. A final vote reveals who the traitors are, and teams compare loot totals. The side with the most gold wins—but glory goes to those who outwitted the crew and walked away with the treasure.
