"The Combat of the Thirty"
A Chivalric tactical table top wargame set in the Hundred Years War
It is March 26th, in the year of our Lord, 1351, and 60 men march to their death on a muddy field in France, under an ancient oak tree. The House of Blois, led by Jean de Beaumanoir meets Robert Pembroke and The house of Montfort, in what is the the most famous act of Chivalry in history - The Combat of the Thirty! Play as either faction in this tactical table top wargame of fierce fight and battle to determine once and for all who will carry the day!
Game play alternates between players, each controlling 30 knights, on a 24x36" grid board. Each player commands 6 different types of unique combat units, and three special characters,one at a time, and will battle to kill or take prisoners for ransom. With every turn a player draws and plays a new Action Card, which grants special abilities or game-changing actions. The game ends when one player has killed all of the opponent's pieces, or the opponent has yielded.
The Combat of the Thirty's game play and rule book are focused on the history and lore of the 14th century, and the famous Hundred Years War. Each force of 30 knights features the heraldry and names of the men who actually fought that day, as well as several pages of lore and explanation of this historic battle. This is a tactical table top wargame steeped in the history and story of one of the most celebrated feats of Chivalry in history.
