Sherlock Holmes (1904)

The play of the game is simple and very exciting, and is entirely new. Any number, from 3-8 can take part. The object is to capture as many "burglers", "robbers" and "thieves" cards as possible and to obtain the valuable "Sherlock Holmes" cards. All players play at once and there is never a dull moment. A large part of the fun of the game consists in making a "sweep" by turning up the card "Sherlock Holmes" thus allowing you to quickly seize an opponents pile of cards which would contain the most "robbers", "thieves" and "burglers". Players can also call "Scotland Yard", forcing everyone to pass 3 cards to the player on his left. The first player to 50 points wins the game.
