Vimeiro (1999)

DTP publication on the Anglo-French encounter at Vimeiro in Portugal on 11 August 1808. Uses the La Guerra de la Indepencia system rules (12 pages) which cover leaders, formation, various types of combat, including cavalry charges, and morale. The scenario employs a small number of event cards. The scenario rules are only 2 pages, although the long list of Peninsular battles announced for this series never came to fruition, except for Rolica. The DTP production values are high for the counters, including oblong line-formation units, as well as 7 pages of color Player Aid Charts, although the map is 'functional'. Game system: - scale 250 m/hex (140 yrd/hex); - time = 15 min/GT; - strength = 100 men/SP (infantry), 50 men/SP (cavalry), 3 guns/SP (artillery)
