3climbers (2021)

3climbers is a single player puzzle game from Japan. By using a set of cards, the player must advance three mountain climbers to the top of the board to win. The players has two decks of cards they shuffle face-down. One deck has the numbers 1-3 three times plus a star as a Joker. The other deck has three Up cards and two Down cards. The climbers, marked 1,2 and 3, start in the middle of the board and can go two steps to the top or one step down. The player shuffles each deck separately and draws three numbers, and two directions, face up. Then they choose one number to apply to the climber, and one number to the step, and a direction. So picking a 1 for the climber and a 3 for the step and an Up for direction moves the #1 climber up two steps to the top (the climber does not go off the plan). The used cards are put aside face up, so the player can work out what remains, and two more numbers and a new direction are dealt up to choose from. In tis way, the player is trying to get all three climbers to the top. Anything less and they lose.
