Qasem Soleimani was a general in Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, and the commander of the elite Quds Force, a unit responsible for international covert ops. Due to his terrorist activities, Soleimani was sanctioned by the United Nations and European Union, and designated a terrorist by the United States. Under Soleimani's command, the Quds Force was responsible for killing hundres of US service members with IED attacks and ambushes.
