Depths of Despair is the sixth adventure in the Solo Adventures in the Underdark series, taking place sometime after The Lost Hammer of Stonefront. Solo Adventures in the Underdark is a very basic, barebones adventure module series to give the solo adventurer some tested and “balanced” content to guide their game.
This module is perfect for any solo adventurer who has found themselves exploring the Underdark, whether in the Forgotten Realms or any other setting. I would use it after playing through episodes 1 to 5 of the series, or as a standalone dungeon delve for a 5th level solo player character.
I highly recommend The Solo Adventurer’s Toolbox for anyone who wants to make this more than a simple hack and slash adventure. Chapter 15 covers tactics that will help determine how the monsters would respond and is a natural addition to make this
module even better.
