"In the run up to the release of the Talisman (Third Edition): Dungeon of Doom, Games Workshop released four new Characters as part of an advertising feature in their house magazine, White Dwarf #177.
These Characters were the Thief, Necromancer, Wardancer and Dragon Rider.
The Characters were also printed in the French language edition of White Dwarf #14 when the Talisman (Third Edition): Dungeon of Doom was released in France as Royaumes Du Mal.
The cards featured miniatures taken from GW's tabletop game, Warhammer.
The Necromancer and Wardancer were released again in 2002 as part of the Talisman (Third Edition): Lost Characters PDF on the GW website.
