Oceanus Strategoi, Miniatures Rules for Small Squadron Naval Combat in the Ancient Mediterranean is a set of miniatures rules for naval combat in the ancient Mediterranean.
The rules are aimed at small squadron actions with each player controlling 3 to 5 galleys.
Ships range in size from triakonters (with 30 oarsmen) up to dekeres, though of course most scenarios would involve the much more common triremes, quadremes and quinteres.
Written orders and damage are recorded on a detailed record sheet.
The game can be scaled to fit existing models.
Originally written to use 1/2000 scale models, all distances are given in 'lengths' which correspond the the length of a trireme (roughly 120 feet).
