The dastardly mindflayer, Balzak Rimwrecker, Dreamscarrer from the Nigh Beyond (not Canada), has built a dungeon that only the most adept heroes can conquer.
These are not those guys.
Critical Fumblers is a solitaire, map-making, dungeon crawler that satirizes this genre. It won 3rd place in the 2017 Solo PnP Contest under the "dungeon crawler" category, and 10th place in Best Overall Game.
Since this dead horse has not been beaten enough, I took the lamest and most outrageous monsters from my years of playing D&D (not the gelatinous cube, because that's the most awesome monster!) and combined them with some of our group's more entertaining fumble events to bring you a game about a party of idiots fighting the stupidest monsters ever, all explained in this huge run-on sentence.
In this game, you draw your map, move from room to room, encounter a lame monster, and fight using a dice-placement mechanic. Corner rooms have a slightly different mechanic, and the end game is a sort-of Choose-you-own-adventure storyline. You win by visiting all Corner Rooms and then returning to the center of the map. You lose by running out of light or a party wipe. All of this combined will give you about an hour of a comedy of errors... err, entertainment. Enjoy!
