World War II has ended. The Third Reich has been destroyed. Former war- time allies, the United States and the U.S.S.R, grow increasingly suspicious of each other’s motives and plans for a post-war world. As this suspicion grows, both nations will seek to exert their will on the global chess board of geostrategic politics and espionage.
Spy Wars is a two-player game. Each player will lead their nation’s Secret Service during the 1950’s era. Players are tasked with deploying their spies to collect enemy Intel (Intelligence) enabling them to carry out missions, and if successful, to steal enemy secrets.
The key objective for players is to gain the most Victory Points (VP). There are 3 ways to do this: (1) successfully complete missions, (2) steal enemy secrets, and (3) advance on the space-race track.
Winning the game:
The game ends after 6 game rounds, or if the VP counter is on a ’8’ space on the victory point track at the end of a game round.
This game is a low ink prototype entry in the 2023-wargame-print-and-play-game-design contest, and gained 2nd place in the best multi-player game category:
