A game all about sustainable fishing in Tasmania.
In the Big Fish Card Game, players take on the role of a recreational fisher who has to catch fish from their fishing spot but also manage the fish population. They do this by selecting which fish to catch and which to leave. Actions are based on the number and size of your fish and so its up to the players to makes sure they can keep fishing on future turns.
The game has three types of cards, fish cards, wild cards and event cards. Fish cards are the main card in the game and represent many local Tasmanian fish species. Wild Cards include things like seaweeds which help you grow fish and oyster reefs that help with fish spawning. There are also wild cards that affect your opponents fishing spot by causing chaos. Lastly event cards happen at the end of each round and can either positively or negatively affect the players fishing spot.
The player who fishes and looks after their spot the best and thus earns the most points becomes the #1 fisher!
