Rekoil's gameplay consists of infantry combat that is class-based, meaning players choose from a number of different specialized roles. It will be possible to set up custom servers. The game also offers support for modding. It features downtrodden "Minutemen" pitted against their oppressors, Darkwater Inc, in a world where the only goal is to survive the unrelenting pandemic that has swept across the globe.
