Rio Grande is included as an insert game in Issue #143 of the Strategy & Tactics magazine.
Rio Grande is a mid complexity tactical level wargame, covering the battle of Valverde, fought in New Mexico Territory, on February 21, 1862, between the Union forces (and New Mexico volunteers) led by Col. Edward Canby and the Confederate Army of New Mexico (mostly Texas troopers and Arizona volunteers), led by Brig. Gen. Henry Sibley, during the Confederate offensive into New Mexico. The game highlights cavalry vs. infantry fighting.
Game includes a 17" by 22" map, which depicts the area of southern New Mexico over which the battle was fought, 100 diecut counters and rules.
