France 1944 is a game on the Allied invasion of France which continues until June 1945, despite the name. Turns are one week.
The game is a fairly simple affair, with turns consisting of just movement, combat, and exploitation. Units are backprinted for step reduction. Most units are divisions.
There are advanced rules which include things such as fuel supply for the Allies; jerrycan counters are provided and these must be delivered by truck to where the fuel is needed.
There is only one 55-turn scenario, but variety is provided by a choice of landing sites for the Allies; they are not required to land on the historic Normandy beaches.
The game came with a 20"x24" map and 308 10mm counters. It was sold both in a ziplock bag and in a box.
