Characters can encounter things when travelling and this is a list of 100 different curiosities that they can stumble across. These curiosities often look as if they have some sort of hidden meaning or greater depth than they actually have, unless the GameMaster decides otherwise. They can be used as background colour when travelling, as red herrings for distracting players or even as adventure hooks. They are most suited for a fantasy setting and, although not dangerous, can definitely be puzzling.

Here are some sample results:
A stretch of road or path, about 20’ long, has been carefully cobbled. The surface is well-maintained and clear of moss. The area of cobbles comes to a clean, deliberate end, suggesting that it was deliberately finished rather than it being the only part remaining of a longer area or the only part that has yet been done.
A tree, or a plant if appropriate, is blooming out of season, having flowers, fruit or leaves when it shouldn’t have. None of the other plants, similar or otherwise, in the area are blooming when they shouldn’t.
A white painted metal bird cage hanging from a tree. The cage’s door is shut but the only thing inside it is a single wooden perch into which two nails have been hammered.
A wooden barrel, standing upright and still sealed. If it is tapped, the barrel is found to contain 44 gallons of a fine quality ale.
A wooden broom leans against a nearby tree. A circular area around the tree, stretching 20’ out from the trunk, appears to have been swept very recently.
One page is the front cover and one the front matter.
