You begin by choosing a faction and start with limited territory, spaceships, and resources. Build your faction, expand your empire, build your economy, own epic spaceships and fight spectacular battles to achieve your final victory.
Your goal is to grow your empire and acquire 10 Victory Points to get to the Verge of Ascendancy. Beware, as when you do, you will have to endure the ruthless final round to emerge victorious.
