War Fields (2025)

War Fields is an abstract strategy game with a light medieval theme. Lead your armies to victory by invading the enemy palace! During the course of the game, players will take turns fielding and moving armies, constructing fortresses and harbours, conquering cities and attacking the opponent's units. No resource management is involved, as all actions spend Action Points, which are regenerated every turn, but can't be stored. Combat is completely deterministic, leaving out every element of randomness. The only randomized part of the game is the setup, which determines the regions in play and the position of cities. There is also an optional module called Cavalry, which introduces horseback units. Those can move farther, can go through enemy units and structures and are slightly stronger against smaller armies. —description from the designer
