Duelga is a dueling card game based on martial arts from history, lore, and myth.
Two to four players choose a duelist, give them a unique combination of Weapons and Styles, then build twenty card decks with half offense and half defense Action cards. With 8 duelists, 20 Styles, 12 Weapons, and over 120 Action cards the possibilities are nearly endless.
Duelist cards are placed in play head to head. All four character sides have a separate offense and a defense rating from 0-6. Each player draws their starting hand and the game begins.
During a turn a player draws two cards and can perform two actions, a Move and a Strike. A player may Move their duelist by either rotating 90 degrees or stepping diagonally - maintaining contact with the opponent. Striking requires that you line up one of your Duelist's attack angles toward his opponent. Both Movement and Strike actions can be modified by offensive cards in hand. After a Strike is declared the opposing player may play defense cards from their hand to mitigate or even cancel the damage. If the Strike is successful the attack value is compared to the defense value and the difference is the damage dealt to the opposing Duelist. Each Duelist starts out with 40 hit points. The last Duelist standing wins.
