"Who could have imagined that the entire world once teetered so close to the brink of irreversible catastrophe... Under the shadow of the impending war, a secret project, unrecorded in any history book, was quietly unfolding. Under the direct command of the Leader of the Third Reich, a high-level research department was established. This department's mission was to develop a practical and epoch-transcending flying saucer technology on the basis of current technological advancements, aiming to ensure Germany's future global dominance. They believed that the nation possessing this advanced technology could easily alter the outcomes of future wars... This flying saucer was later named Haunebu."
Haunebu is a tabletop simulation game set in an alternate historical context, featuring both solo and two-player modes. In the two-player mode, one player takes on the role of the main person in charge of the Third Reich's Haunebu secret research project, while the other plays the role of an Allied intelligence agency, with the goal of thwarting the opponent's plans. As the German player, strategic considerations such as concealment and efficiency must be weighed to select a suitable location for establishing a Haunebu flying saucer production and research base, organize internal logistics, and allocate resources wisely for the development and production of these advanced aircraft. However, getting Haunebu operational is no easy task. Players need to advance technology and may even need to form expeditions to collect mysterious energy and special materials from various global mystical sites to enhance Haunebu's performance, from the ruins in the poles to the relics in the dense forests. Once the war breaks out, players must also ensure that secret resource transportation routes across the war-torn continent remain unobstructed. This requires maintaining a semi-competitive, semi-cooperative relationship with other German secret weapons research teams, where exchanging resources can bring strategic advantages such as improving sea transport routes, opening air corridors, or enhancing defenses against Allied attacks to protect the base's operations and efficiency. Players can also develop specialized Haunebu saucers for transport or even control combat-ready Haunebu saucers for testing and combat, gaining favor from the leadership through their military achievements to secure more funding and manpower. As a player of the Allied intelligence organization, you must relentlessly collect intelligence on flying saucer technology and secret materials, using various means to steal or destroy these secret plans.
As time progresses, this covert contest intensifies. Every expedition and every secret battle could decide the future face of the world. In this unseen war, everyone must choose to stand on the side of justice or evil.
