Into the Rift is a 3v1 tabletop game where three players (the heroes) battle their way through custom layout dungeons created by the fourth player (The rift dweller).
Hero's winning objective: Defeat the rift dweller at the very end of the game, by traversing 3 dungeons that become longer and more difficult as more floors are completed. Players will defeat monsters, find hidden rooms and relics, and become stronger as they reach the end to defeat the Rift Dweller in combat. At least one player has to be alive in the end for the heroes to win.
Rift Dweller's winning objective: Kill all three of the hero characters before you yourself are defeated. Choose one of 3 bosses kept in secret until the final room is revealed. Construct dungeons by placing room cards that may or may not be booby-trapped or infested with monsters.
Dungeon mechanics:
Each floor begins at the entrance card, which is the first card flipped face up. Connect other rooms to this by placing room cards face down. Once players decide where to go, the room they select is flipped, revealing the next obstacle.
Every room has a maximum monster value. Monster value is determined by the monsters placed in said rooms. Each floor can only have a set number of rooms, which increases as floors progress, and also must include at least one beneficial room.
The final floor has a boss room hidden in the layout, and cannot be connected to the entrance, nor have multiple rooms connected to it (to avoid finding it too fast)
