A game that raises awareness and gives meaning to those affected.
"Is there milk in there?" Luis' standard question. He has a milk allergy. We, his parents, have to experience time and again that those around us know far too little about food allergies, which is why there was once even a life-threatening incident.
We want to change that: with the Allergy laying and memo game! 26 children look for their food allergen.
Alongside egg, peanut, fish, nuts, soy and wheat, milk is one of the allergens to which children react most frequently. The memo game Allergy! also revolves around these seven allergens. 26 children are looking for their food allergen.
I have drawn children from all cultures who are happy about a food and then have an allergic reaction to it: For example, a little girl bites into a chocolate marshmallow. The allergen egg is depicted on the corresponding card and the child has pustules. Players can easily match cards, as the child depicted and the background match on the pairs of cards.
Players not only learn which allergens can be found in food, but also the various allergic reactions: from itchy, burning skin redness and swelling to digestive and circulatory problems and breathing difficulties.
A pair of cards also explains how emergency medication can help allergy sufferers in the event of an anaphylactic shock. The game box also contains useful information on the topic.

When drawing, I made sure to package the serious topic in a funny way. The allergic reactions are depicted in an exaggerated way, which is particularly popular with young players and arouses their interest in the topic.
The game, which has been thoroughly tested by the German Allergy and Asthma Association (DAAB), is aimed at children of toddler and preschool age.
It consists of 56 cards, including four information cards. The appealing and child-friendly illustrations were created by Anita Barry.
The laying and memo game was produced in Germany using FSC-certified materials that are safe for children.
