The Battle of Nanjing was a battle fought by the Chinese army against the Japanese invasion in December 1937. The battle began on December 4 and ended on the 13th when Nanjing fell. The day Nanjing fell was the beginning of the Nanjing Massacre. The game starts on December 7, 1937 (the second day of the historical Japanese general attack on Nanjing) and ends on December 14.

While the battle only lasted a few days it tragically turned from tenacious resistance by the Chinese army to a complete route.

National Chinese military units are represented at the regiment, brigade, and division levels with some independent units at the company level. Japanese military units are represented at the regiment and brigade level. Each round in the game represents a single day of combat.

The game contains an A2 sized mounted map, the game rules, a history booklet and a reprint of the Japanese Letter of Surrender from the end of World War 2.
