RIVALES is a board game about football (soccer) that uses cards and a dice, combining chance, mathematics and strategy. Two people over fourteen years of age compete, each one representing a club. Eight fixtures are simulated to define who has hegemony in four seasons, with two fixtures being held per football year. A game lasts approximately 120 minutes, depending on the skill and concentration of the participants.
Each player plays different roles: owner, sporting director, manager, footballers and referees. The footballers and the actions of the referees are cards. Footballers have different types (categories) and monetary values in relation to the goals they can score or avoid. Cards that give or take away money, cause inconveniences (sanctions, injuries) or allow the situation to be unraveled or the score changed are also influential. Monetary values are indicated in millions without specifying the currency (M¤).
