Operation Walküre is a single-player-only game that recreates the plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany during his dictatorial rule.

Players negotiate with the Allied Forces while gaining generals and civilians as allies, with the aim of establishing a new government after Hitler's assassination. The game covers the period from the summer of 1941, when the war between Germany and the Soviet Union began, to the winter of 1944, when Germany's defeat was assured.

The player controls an anti-Hitler unit consisting of generals, counter-intelligence and civilians, whose goal is to find opportunities to assassinate Hitler and ‘eliminate’ him by increasing their influence by attracting key Allied military and intelligence personnel, German generals and civilians to their side. The Hitlerites, on the other hand, are ‘sabotaged’ by the system's manipulation of the SS and by investigating and placing anti-Hitler and collaborators under arrest and surveillance.

By the winter of 1944, as the war draws to a close, the Fatherland must be saved from the ‘dictatorship’ that is pushing the German people to the brink of destruction.
