Beschreibung
WORD-POWER is a boardgame concerned with vocabulary, and in particular the definitions of English words. The aim of the game is to progress around the board which represents attendance at Primary School, High School, College and University, collecting points through correctly answering questions. In order to graduate you must pass through the finish square with 300 or more points.
Movement around the board is determined by a dice roll, though players are able to select the route they take. Landing on a colored square will require players to answer 1, 2 or 3 questions from a given category (blue - easy, green - moderate, red - difficult). The questions are concerned with providing a definition of a given word - if this can be done without any assistance 10 points are awarded - if however the player elects to be given three options from the card only 5 points are awarded for a correct answer.
Points gained are recorded on a notepad with players being able to progress from one educational institution to the next having earned the requisite number of points:
50 to leave primary School
100 to leave High School
200 to leave College.
The first player to reach the finish with more than 300 points is the winner.
