The game represents the various stages of a battle between a German U-Boot and three Allied destroyers.
The U-Boot player wins entering the Base of destroyers, after covering all six areas that comprise the board, or sinking three destroyers.
Destroyers players win by sinking the U-Boot or if the U-Boot does not re-emerge within the set number of moves.
