Taira Ships, Minamoto Horses: Genpei Naval Records is a board wargame based on naval battles from February 1184 to April 1185 during the Genpei War.

In general, the Minamoto clan and the Taira clan are the focus of attention in the Genpei War, but in this game, the Seto Inland Sea's "Hometown Navy" is the main character.

Both the Taira clan and the Minamoto clan must continue to fight in order to gain their allies, who are sensitive to the consequences of the war.

In naval battles at that time, when neither nautical charts nor systematic information was maintained, it was important to have a deeper knowledge of the "local sea".
