After everyone has agreed on the amount of the bet, the order is determined by rolling the die. Since laziness is trumps in the Land of Cockaigne, the last ones naturally go first, that is, whoever has the lowest number of points begins. Those who have thrown an even number of eyes are assigned the right ribbon, the others the left, after which the game begins.
