The knowledge of the world is hidden from the eyes of normal men. Only those deemed worthy in the eyes of those in the circle can earn the right to learn these secrets and enter the Inner Sanctum. But only one maybe chosen. Will you be the one?

In Inner Sanctum you try and control illegal businesses, politicians, spells, artifacts, rituals and other cultists, to rise up levels inside your cult. You do this by collecting sets of Control cards and have a larger set of that type than anyone else.

You can blackmail, leak scandals, police raids and more. You do this by playing action cards on your turn.

The deeper you go, the more corrupt you get. Everything you do, causes you to collect more and more corruption. The more corruption the harder it is to make it to level 7 and win the game. But if you gain too much corruption, the Dark One will come and take you.

How deep are you willing to go, will you sell your soul? will you call on the dark one himself for a shot at stealing victory out from under your rival cultists, and be the favored. Or will he take you back to his dark realm to never be seen again.

To play the game, players take turns drawing cards in the control phase, playing action cards and collecting sets of control cards.
When the Gathering phase is called, each player plays their sets and if you have more control cards than your opponents in a specific type, you gain a level(s).

If no one is at level 7, then a new control phase begins.
