The game deals with a fight over an ancient lighthouse by orcs and Vikings. The goal of the orcs is to get one of their tokens to the top of the lighthouse, while the Viking are trying to prevent this.

A turn consists of three phases:
1.Manuever
2.Hand-to-hand
3.shoot

Maneuver - a player rolls a die for how many actions they get. A piece can move one space for one action and may do up to the total rolled in actions. You can also split the total actions over several figures; if a five was rolled you could move two figures two spaces each and another figure one space. However, no piece may move further than three spaces. Only one token can be in a space. There are additional costs for climbing stairs.

Hand-to-hand - Figures that enter another space occupied by an enemy figure fight. Both roll a die and the high side wins. If the difference was only one then the piece is returned to their side of the map, if by two then the piece is killed and removed.

Shooting - The player then shoots adjacently with their figures. Viking roll one die per figure, but Orcs roll two. On a 6 the piece is killed and on a 5 it is wounded (the piece is returned to owner's side of the map). There are different modifications for tower shots.
