In 1856, a group of men from Columbus, Ohio selected a spot near the confluence of the Platte and Loup Rivers as the place they would start a new town, in Nebraska, called Columbus. 150 years later, Columbus, Nebraska celebrates its Sesquicentennial or 150th birthday.
