PHALANX simulates a battle between two armies from the Iron Age.

The players take the role of generals facing each other on the field of battle, trying to destroy the enemy’s troops and pushing them out of the battlefield.

The player play cards that can act as reinforcements (sending more troops into the fray) or as orders (to direct the ones already on the battlefield).

Destroying your enemy’s troops will give you victory at the end of the day, but beware! A single enemy troop that manages to cross the battlefield and reach your command tent will force you to retreat, leaving your opponent master of the battlefield!
