Bomb Alley is a card-driven game (CDG) for two players that depicts the violent fighting that took place on May 21, 1982 in San Carlos Bay, Falklands Islands, where British ground troops landed. Throughout the game, players experience the constant roar of jet engines and the roar of explosions. The game includes a deck of 65 cards and 72 markers both single or double-sided and requires at least two 6-sided dice (D6).
Cards encompass Mission (Raid cards), Terrains, Objectives (ships, ground objectives), Aircrafts and Events. Markers include Hit/Critical hits markers, ammunition, Incident chits. Included are also Player Aid's cards summerizing the important informations from the 16 pages rule booklet.
After agreeing to a mission (one of the 7 different Raids), the players start "building" an approach to objectives using Terrain and Objective cards. Once the approach have been prepare, the attack per se starts. As the Argentinian tries to drop and armed bombs on Objectives, the British player tries to shot the aircraft down. Both players can interfere with the actions of their opponent by use of Event cards and Incident chits. At the end of a Raid, Victory Points (VPs) are given to player according fullfillment of mission goals indicated on the Raid card.
The game can be one single Raid, or a Campaign of 3 successive Raids. The player with the highest VP win a Raid, the player winning 2 Raids out of 3 wins the campaign.
Game duration varies according to players preference, from 15 minutes for a single Raid to over an hour for a three Raids campaign game.
