Genre: Fully cooperative Sci-fi Action Dungeon Crawler
Players: 1-4 (Ages 13+)
Estimated Weight: 3
Summary: Each player is a super soldier in the year 4335, part of an elite squadron known as Bravo Team. They are stranded on a long-abandoned world teeming with hostile wildlife. After disastrously crash landing in a region classified as "American Northeast" without any backup to come for years, players will have to survive by...
+ Exploring the overworld one location at a time, triggering story choices followed by combat missions
+ Collecting Items such as weapons and armor to add to their character's tableau, which resembles a walking arsenal
+ Finding Allies to recruit based on story choices and mission performances
+ Working as a team to overcome an assortment of challenges, but with no requirement for a full team. Solitaires can even help Bravo Team conduct its operation as an army of one and still follow the entire team's story in true solo mode. This just means some of the combat action thematically happens "off-screen"/ off-board for 3 players or less
+ Taking on an assortment of nightmarish creatures in small skirmishes or large-scale battles to reclaim this world one step at a time. However, following orders may come at a cost...
Objective: Get to the northernmost location on the overworld map and accomplish its mission... which will be unique based on choices players make throughout the game leading up to that point.
Game Elements: CYOA story with an open overworld map to explore through a campaign with a "save" system for multiple plays (does not contain legacy elements.) Story branches change the game world, ensuring no two campaigns are the same. Missions include fast-paced tactical combat with simultaneous player actions on hex-based grid arenas. Players manage a tableau of cards and tokens to resemble each player's personal arsenal, character stats, and skills they can perform against enemies. Difficulty scales up for higher player counts.
Mechanics: exploration with an organic open world, CYOA narrative, action selection (menu of character combat skills to choose from), dice rolling* (only for positive damage modifiers with no mechanic for "missing" attacks), dice manipulation/ luck mitigation, hex-based grid movement, RPG (stats building, item collecting, character skill strategy), dungeon crawling (unique arenas for tactical combat with a loot and progression system.) *Unique tug-of-war mechanic: players roll dice to add damage when attacking enemies, but enemies get to modify their attacks with any dice used against them in return.
Main components: 1 region map (overworld), 2 story books (Mission Book A and Mission Book B), 2 combat arena books (Mission Maps and Map Supplement), 1 deck of enemy cards, 1 deck of Ally cards, 4 character figures, 4 character pads, tokens, enemy figures, tracker pads and tracker cubes for a dynamic stat tracking system (health bar, action points, etc.) Mission Books A and B contain the campaign narrative adventure and mission details, such as enemy behaviors and environmental rules for combat
