5 card games in one! High score wins in basketball, baseball, and football; low score wins in golf; first one with numbers covered consecutively wins LINE-O.
BASKETBALL
Players are dealt 5 cards and lay them face down in an X pattern with 1 card in the middle and the other 4 at the corners of it. Score using numbers on outside corners of cards. Each player may now look at the two cards closest to them. The cards will be replaced face down and must be remembered as the player is not allowed to look at them again. The other three cards cannot be seen at all. The top two cards may be replaced, but must be replaced sight unseen. The middle card cannot be replaced and remains as a mystery card sight unseen until the end of play. The player to the left of the dealer now begins play. He may select the card turned face up from the deck or select one from the top of the deck. If the number of the card is higher than either card seen, the player may replace it, or the player may choose to replace one of the top unseen cards. Remember, the player must change the top two cards without looking at them. When a top card is replaced it might be a higher card than the one used to replace it. However, the card replaced must be put on the pile face up in the middle of the table. If the card selected from the top of the deck is not higher the player may discard the selected card without replacing any of his cards. The player then puts the card replaced face up on the pile in the center of the table. The next player may now either take the card discarded by the previous player or take a card from the top of the pile. Each player then plays in similar manner as the previous player and so on around the table. Playing continues around the table and any player may change a card as often as desired. The center card cannot be replaced and remains unseen until the end of play. When a player feels that.he may have the highest score totalling up the 4 cards plus the mystery card in the center, he may call out "BASKET" Each player after him will then have one last turn including the dealer. Playing will then stop, (this gives everyone playing an equal chance) Should the dealer call "BASKET" playing will stop immediately as all will have had equal chances of play. If the player that calls "BASKET" has the highest number of points he will receive his total points PLUS an additional 6 points. Should several players have the same score as the one calling "BASKET", the one who calls will still receive the extra 6 points extra because he took the risk If another player has a higher score than the one calling "BASKET", the player who called "BASKET" will lose all the points on his 5 cards minus 6 points as a penalty. All other players will receive the total of the points on their 5 cards.
BASEBALL
Players are dealt 4 cards and lay them face down in a square pattern. As in the game of basketball, the 2 cards nearest the player may be seen only once. The top two cards cannot be seen at all. Play is then started and the game is played in the same manner as basketball. The difference - All cards may be replaced. In the basketball game the center card may not be replaced. Score using numbers inside baseball diamond. Baseball When a player believes the total score of his 4 cards is the highest he will call "HOME RUN". Play will continue through the dealer. (If the dealer calls, "HOME RUN" play will cease immediately. If the player's 4 card score is highest, the player will receive total of his score plus 4 points. If another player has a higher score, the one calling "HOME RUN" will lose all his points and minus 4 in addition. After the 4 cards are totaled, the total will be divided by 4.
FOOTBALL
Players are dealt 4 cards and lay them face down in a square pattern. Score using numbers inside Football Field - Rectangle. Game is played the same as Baseball only the person with the highest score calls "TOUCHDOWN". If player has the highest score on 4 cards or ties with another player, the player calling "TOUCHDOWN" will receive the total score plus 6 points. If the player does not have the highest score he will lose all his points minus 6 more. Bonus cards add 1 touchdown or 6 points. Total score of all cards in a player's hand will be counted as the score of the player's 4 cards 6 3 5 2 = 16. 16 points will be put in score box unless one of the cards is a Bonus card. Then he would have 16 + 6 = 22.
GOLF
Players are dealt 4 cards and lay them face down in a square pattern. Score using numbers inside the circle. Played the same as baseball and football. As opposed to other sports - golf is won by having the lowest score. When a player feels that he has the lowest score on his cards he will call out "HOLE IN ONE" Play continues to dealer and ends with him. If the dealer should call "HOLE IN ONE" play ends immediately. If the player's score is the lowest or tied for the lowest, the player would get 0 score for his hand. If another player has a lower score, the player calling "HOLE IN ONE" would receive 5 points score for his hand. Holes are considered PAR 4 so the 5 points would be considered a boggy in golf. The term boggy in golf means 1 over par. Players having Bonus cards subtract 1 point. Example: If player calling Hole-In-One has lowest score. His score would be 0. Should he have a Bonus Card it would be -1, Two Bonus Cards -2. If another player has a lower score, the one calling Hole-In-One would receive 5 points. Should he have a Bonus Card 1 point would be subtracted. His score would be 5 minus 1 = 4 points. All other players receive the total score on their cards. 9 holes is considered a game. The lowest score after 9 holes wins. As in real golf the game can be scored by the one who wins the most holes rather than total score. This is called match play.
LINE-O
Cut up card perforated into squares and give 5 to each player. Score using numbers in Center of card. Remove 2 cards of each number using center circle numbers. 2 each of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. You will have a pile of 14 cards. Shuffle the 14 cards and place face down in center of table. Dealer shuffles the rest of the cards and deals 5 cards to each player. Player will now turn his cards over one at a time and place next to each other. From the pile of 14 cards in the center of the table, the dealer turns over 1st card. If the number 3 is in the center of the card all players who have number 3 on their first card should cover it with a square. Whoever is the dealer and turns the cards over one by one and calls out the number. Number 3 on any other card but the first card cannot be covered. You must have the cards in consecutive order. If the second card is a 2 and you have a 2 on your first card you may cover it. If your first card was a three and you covered it, you may now cover the number 2 card, if your next card is a 2. If the 2 is on your 4th card, you cannot cover it unless cards 1, 2, and 3 have been covered. When you cover all cards in consecutive order you may call "LINE-O" and you have won the game.
