On Christmas Eve, the snow is gently falling over the Krone family's elegant villa. With over 50,000 tons of gingerbread and cookies produced every year, the Krone company is one of the leading German manufacturers of Christmas baked goods. Dorothea Krone, head of the family and landlady, was already the third generation to run the traditional company. Since her hip operation five weeks ago, her family had been anxiously waiting to see when she would pass the torch.

Like every year, Dorothea had invited her family to her home to celebrate Christmas together. Everyone attending did their best to ignore the small changes in the way things are usually run for this event. But the carefully cultivated harmony of the evening was suddenly disturbed when the landlady was found dead on the floor in her bedroom. How could this Christmas party end so tragically?
