Dope is a strategic game in which 2-4 players embody gangs of 90's New York criminals (Chinese, African Americans, Italians and Russians) who fight to dominate the city's dope market.

You start with thirteen criminals on your player board, along with ten dollars and few pieces of dope. In your gang, there are different types of criminals, each with unique strengths in combat, majority control, purchasing, and selling. Criminals can be hidden or revealed, which changes their impact on the game but also affects their survival.

The map consists of neighborhoods, each divided into squares. Neighborhoods and squares are connected to different dope markets (each offering one of the four types of dope for purchase) and different buyers (who purchase specific types of dope).

Each turn, players take 4 actions, such as recruiting criminals onto the map, purchasing dope, selling dope, moving, or attacking enemy criminals. Actions can be disrupted by events such as police raids that may disrupt your strategies.

Build your strategy by investing in a larger gang, spreading them across the most profitable neighborhoods for buying and selling, while protecting them from enemy attacks. Also, invest in the cheapest drugs and sell them when prices rise. The prices of the 4 types of dope fluctuate each turn and can be influenced by building loyalty with buyers, which also offers bonuses. Buyers additionally provide cards that enhance your basic actions.

Your goal is to dominate the market by accumulating 40 dollars in your wallet. Additional conditions may help you achieve victory.
