The players take tuns to move a figure. The area covered by the guns (the light green spaces) may not be entered or jumped over by friend or foe. The two flag spaces can be occupied and jumped over by the figures in the same way as the other spaces on the game board.
The figures jump one, two or three spaces straight forward, left or right sideways, left or right diagonally forward but not backward. The jump carries over both free spaces and over friend and foe. The jumped over figures are not removed. You can only jump onto free spaces or spaces occupied by the enemy. In the latter case, the enemy figure is removed.
The figures of the fortress army, after crossing the boldly drawn brown line, also jump backwards on the three rows of spaces behind this line - according to the same rules as forwards. They can also jump back over the boldly drawn brown line once with their full jump distance and knock away an enemy figure standing in the target space while being eliminated too.
The seige army wins if a figure reaches a flag space and stays there till it's next turn. If a figure of the fortress army captures this figure, the fortress army wins.
