Lego Wars was the first of the "brick powered" wargames. It is the ancestor of Brikwars and inspiration for many of the other Lego wargames out there.
An excellent game if you have a lot of Legos lying around. Easy to customize your own army.
Lego Pirate Wars—written by Stephen W. Gabriel—had it's rules published as magazine articles in 1995/1996.
