MGs & Bayonets (2023)

MGs & Bayonets is a fast-playing set of WWII infantry battle rules that fits on just two pages. In addition to its featured period, it also works well for Interwar and early Cold War skirmishes.

Players control a 1:1 platoon or company of soldiers following a historical ORBAT, and play focuses on holding and denying terrain features on the table. With simple gradation between raw and veteran units, commanders can stack the odds in their favour before launching their final assault, just as captain and lieutenants did historically!

The game features:

A simple bidding system of command initiative that lets the hasty move before the coordinated.
Terrain-centric movement and shooting rules that organically incorporate reconnaissance by fire and area suppression.
Integrated casualty and morale mechanics to keep the game flowing.
An optional points system for pick-up or club play.
