The game Starsis was released in 2 sets: Invasion of the Runes and Skirmish on Gronta. Each of the sets is dedicated to one "amphibious operation" in wars of the distant future. While managing a unit, players must complete a chain of missions - by completing them, one by one, they are approaching the ultimate victory. The games of the Starsys series unfold on a playing field divided by on the cells. But it doesn't stop there - the kit also includes a construction set. Its parts can be used to construct A whole labyrinth of ruins and fortifications. The game is decorated with spectacular accessories - cards, cubes, flags, a bright playing field. Squads of soldiers have their own names, combat characteristics, and army ranks.

There is also a legend of the game - the battles of the space Empire and the interstellar Trade Protectorate. Star Troopers are Troops of the warring states. Having clashed in the battles of the first two missions, they will continue the war in the vast expanses hostile space.

Games of the Starsis series no longer contain firing weapons - everything is solved with the help of dice. The figurines are noticeably smaller than those that Fantasy Battles players are used to. In general, the games of the Starsis series are solid tabletop tactical war games. Despite the fact that there are only two sets in this series, there are more than a dozen miniature figures. So Starsis can be safely to be called the first Russian "fantastic" wargame.
