Klin Zha (Klingon chess) is similar to "Earth" chess in that it is an abstract board game between two players. Pieces move and capture opposing pieces like in chess. It is played on a triangular board with triangular spaces. Initial setup is free: players may arrange their pieces in any manner they choose within their section of the board.

The game was originally described in the Star Trek novel The Final Reflection by John M. Ford, also known for his contributions to the board game and RPG scenes. It was subsequently developed in a playable game by fans.
