Motherland (2016)

Motherland is a game of suspicion and accusation, paranoia and groupthink. Citizens must stay alert to the Spies among them, while Spies collectively conspire against the Citizens. All in the name of the glorious Motherland.

The dreaded Gulag awaits!

Motherland is a hidden role game where players secretly take on the role of either citizen or spy. Under the watch of the Block Captain, each round takes place in three phases: Gossip (players discuss who should be sent to the Gulag), Troika (a team of three players votes on who to send to the Gulag), and Darkness (Spies that have not already been sent to the Gulag secretly notify the Block Captain of an additional player that gets sent to the Gulag by force in the night). Gameplay continues repeating rounds until only two players remain outside of the Gulag. If only citizens remain, the citizens win the game. If even one spy remains free, the spies win.
